What is this? EuroLitA is a satirical "name plausibility" project: it compares your first/last name against a public name-frequency dataset to estimate how likely your claimed origin is.
Where did the idea come from?
It’s inspired by the German asylum tech stack around
TraLitA
(Transliterationsassistent),
a BAMF tool for standardising Arabic-to-Latin name transliteration and analysing name frequency
distributions.
